Acne scars:
When present in a male, acne scars are often a significant concern. Unlike females who can use makeup to hide these scars, males have no way to camouflage these imperfections. Due the nature of male skin, these scars are often deeper as well.

Facial Rejuvenation:
There are many different types of lasers and other devices used to rejuvenate a man’s skin and his appearance. Most guys prefer procedures that require little or no downtime. The choice of technology utilized must take into account the thickness of male skin, the hair bearing portion of the face and the unique set of aging concerns males have.
It is recommended that men seek care from aesthetic physicians who own and utilize many different devices for facial rejuvenation so that a treatment can be tailored to their specific needs. Some of the more popular procedures used for men include Fraxel laser rejuvenation, Portrait PSR resurfacing and Vbeam Pulsed dye laser for broken capillaries and Rosacea. See facial rejuvenation for more details. |

BOTOX Cosmetic:
BOTOX cosmetic is a very popular treatment for men due to its ability to create a more relaxed, youthful look with little risk and no downtime. Due to the size of a man’s facial muscles, more BOTOX must be used compared to a female to achieve a comparable result. The forehead, frown area and crow’s feet are the most common areas treated. As many men have heavy, low set brows, care must be taken not to lower the brows with BOTOX Cosmetic therapy. It is advisable to seek care from a physician who regularly treats men to achieve the most natural, long lasting results. See BOTOX Cosmetic for more information.

Dermal Fillers:
Dermal fillers such as Perlane, Juvederm and Radiesse are very popular with men today due to their ability to soften the facial contours including the nasolabial folds and provide a more youthful look. Due to the thickness of male skin, we prefer to use more robust fillers like Radiesse, Perlane and Juvederm Ultra Plus. See dermal fillers for more information. |
