DermaWave NoNeedle Mesotherapy: Reduce Cellulite
The DermaWave NoNeedle Mesotherapy procedure is a cutting edge treatment to reduce cellulite and unwanted fat. The process is based on a technique called Aquaphoresis, which uses specialized electrical waveforms to help reactivate specific physiologic processes in tissue that contribute to the formation of cellulite. These include improving improving microcirculation, lymph drainage and blood flow. The process also uses topical Mesotherapy solutions that are applied to and transmitted through the skin by the use of these specific electrical waveforms.

The advantages of NoNeedle Mesotherapy for the treatment of cellulite include the avoidance of bruising and fear and discomfort some people experience with injections. Though traditional Mesotherapy is tolerated well by most, the option to proceed without the need for needles is welcomed by many.
DermaWave treatments take approximately 30 minutes and a typical treatment regimen consists of 8-10 treatments. Results become evident after the 4 th or 5 th session, possibly sooner, depending on the extent of the cellulite problem.
It is possible to perform DermaWave therapy in combination with other treatments for Cellulite including VelaSmooth or traditional Mesotherapy to further optimize results .

What to expect during and after treatment?
The DermaWaves treatment consists of the application of a very low level laser and a sequence of specialized electrical currents used in combination with a topical Mesotherapy solution which is applied to the skin using a smooth, plastic disc in a comfortable, rotary motion. The only sensation one feels is a mild tingling sensation and warmth. The treatment takes 20-30 minutes.Post treatment, patients can resume normal activities immediately and can exercise, wear shorts or a bathing suit, etc
How many treatments are required and at what intervals?
A total of 8-10 treatments are generally required but the exact number depends on the severity of the cellulite. A typical regimen consists of two to three treatments the first week, two treatments a week for three weeks and once weekly for 1-2 weeks. Missed or skipped treatments are probably not critical to the final outcome but a consistent pattern of treatments is recommended to optimize the results.
Is there a need for maintenance?
Cellulite formation by the body is an ongoing process and after the series of treatments which will reduce the appearance of cellulite, maintenance is required to maintain the result. The frequency of treatments depends on the severity of the problem and the comprehensiveness of the initial treatment regimen. A typical follow up plan would be one treatment every 1-2 months and hopefully longer as the condition stabilizes.
What about diet and exercise?
Diet and exercise are strongly encouraged, as is increasing one’s intake of water. A diet high in protein and low in simple carbohydrates such as sugar as well as the avoidance of processed foods is advised.
What are the contraindications for DermaWave treatment?
The treatment is quite safe and complications are very rare.
Actually, there are no known internal complications at all. The contraindications to treatment include pregnancy, unstable Diabetes Mellitus, and certain significant medical disorders. Extreme obesity, though not an absolute contraindication, may represent an unique metabolic state that may not respond adequately to treatment.
