eTwo is a comprehensive facial rejuvenation device that uses the combination of both Sublime and Sublative laser applications.

eTwo (eMAtrix) is great for targeting fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth and on the cheeks. eMatrix uses radiofrequency waves to treat your skin from the inside out. This technology is known as sublative rejuvenation. eMatrix targets your skin’s lower layers — the root of many skin problems, including fine lines, wrinkles, skin laxity, or acne scars.

eTwo Laser Resurfacing Quick Facts

How Does the eTwo Fractional Laser Work?

eTwo Laser Resurfacing

The face will be cleansed and a numbing cream or cooling agent may be applied to the treatment area. This should take place about 30 minutes before your eMatrix procedure begins. eMatrix can be customized to your skin care needs via a SelectPlus feature that provides options for mild, moderate and deep treatments. Exactly how long your treatment will last depends upon the size of the treated area. A full treatment of the face usually takes about 20-30 minutes. You may feel a slight heat or prickly sensation during your eMatrix treatment as the energy penetrates your skin.

Most areas do require multiple treatments that are spaced about four to six weeks apart.

Frequently Asked Questions About eTwo (eMatrix) Laser Resurfacing

  • Who is an ideal candidate for eTwo (eMatrix)?

If you are concerned about fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, skin laxity, sun spots, and/or stretch marks, you may be a candidate for sublative rejuvenation with eMatrix. Unlike other skin freshening procedures, eMatrix can be used on all skin types — even darker complexions.

eMatrix is based around the same fractionated technology used with Fraxel.  eMatrix employs energy to create tiny, pinhead-sized wounds in the dermis or deepest layer of your skin. The untreated skin around each wound is stimulated to repair the treated area via a collagen-stimulating, controlled wound-healing process. The epidermis or upper layer of your skin remains untouched and undamaged.

The radio waves are not absorbed by the pigment cells, which give the skin color, so it does not cause trauma, keloid scarring, or other skin discoloration type side effects.

The best way to determine if sublative rejuvenation with eMatrix is right for you is to schedule a consultation with one of our physicians who have extensive experience in all available skin care procedures. They will examine your skin, and tell you which treatment(s) will best address your skin type and concerns.

  • How much does it cost?

Cost varies based on the extent of the treatment, and may also vary from physician to physician. On average, an eMatrix treatment costs between $750 – $1,200. Multiple sessions are often needed. Be sure to discuss cost at your initial consultation.

  • Is there downtime?

After treatment, you can go right back to your daily activities – there is no downtime or recovery period with eMatrix.

  • What happens after the treatment?

You may develop a pinkish hue that looks and feels like a sunburn and/or small dots on the treated area. These dots may last for a day or so before disappearing and may be followed by dryness. Cosmetic results may become apparent after your first eMatrix treatment, and these results will improve with each subsequent treatment. eMatrix results last a full year or more after your final treatment.
