This patient’s cystic acne was not only extremely painful but having a pretty big impact on her self-esteem that was negatively impacting her work and social life. She had previously tried Accutane several times, to no avail. Dr. Chasin was able to work through this patient’s underlying medical conditions by taking a very thorough medical history and using labs to identify not only that the patient had rosacea which was exacerbating the acne breakouts, but also that there were underlying hormonal and disease issues at play.
With patience and regular laser and prescription treatments, this patient was finally able to stop her break-outs and move forward.
