Restylane Refyne is a specifically formulated hyaluronic acid dermal filler comprised of XpresHAn Technology to help diminish facial wrinkles and lines for a more natural, youthful look. Restylane Refyne Quick Facts

  • Quick and easy injection treatment
  • Long-lasting, customizable results
  • Naturally-refreshed look

This advanced gel formula is used to correct these problems by softening the wrinkles and strengthening the skin’s structure. Hyaluronic acid is a substantial part of our skin’s structure; however, this natural substance tends to degenerate over time and causes the skin to begin to wrinkle. Replenishing hyaluronic acid with Restylane Refyne injections can remove smile lines and provide long-lasting structure to the skin.

Most Common Uses for Restylane Refyne

Restylane Refyne, one of the newer additions to the Restylane family, works by replacing lost hyaluronic acid within the skin to leave a smooth, more even skin surface. This filler should be injected into the designated region to restore the look of youthful volume. The lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth will be injected to reduce the look of the depressions and even out the skin’s surface.

Although similar to Restylane Defyne, the components of Restylane Refyne are smoother and less dense because it corrects mild to moderate lines and wrinkles. During the initial consultation, your cosmetic physician can go into further detail about each Restylane product to ensure that the best injectable was chosen.

Restylane Refyne Injections

Restylane Refyne treats very similar, but less severe, cases to that of Restylane Defyne. This injectable is used to:

Commonly, patients will receive both the Refyne and Defyne injections to these concerns to provide a more comprehensive treatment. However, both injectables can be used on their own as well. For your Restylane Refyne treatment, a cannula or ultra-fine needle will be inserted into the skin, and the gel solution will be strategically dispersed throughout the treatment area. Cannulas are used whenever possible because it has decreased risks for complications, including swelling and bruising. This will smooth out the area of concern for a more youthful appearance. The treatment itself lasts about 15-30 minutes. The injections will be performed by injecting the gel in small amounts until the area of concern has been corrected. This process will be repeated until your desired aesthetic has been attained. You will be able to return to your daily routine immediately after the treatment without any recovery or downtime.

Frequently Asked Questions
On Restylane Refyne

  • What does it feel like?

During your Restylane Refyne injections, you may experience a mild tingling sensation. However, all Restylane products contain a local anesthetic. This will provide numbing during the injection for patient comfort. To help maintain comfort, we do offer a numbing cream that can be applied to the injection site before treatment. Our patients say that the injections performed at Reflections Center are easy and comfortable.

  • Do I need anesthesia?

Restylane Refyne already contains a form of local anesthetic. Most patients find Restylane Refyne injections very comfortable, but in the case that you are especially sensitive, we offer additional numbing options, up to and including full nerve blocks. For this reason, we can apply a topical anesthetic or nerve blocks (numbing injections that are done directly into nerve bundles to ensure the patient feels absolutely nothing) to the injection sites before beginning the treatment. This form of numbing can last up to 5 hours, which is why some patients prefer to use a different local anesthetic.

  • What is the cost of Restylane Refyne?

The cost of dermal fillers starts at $650 for one syringe. You can get discounted pricing when more than a single syringe is purchased at the same time. Additionally, you can boost your savings by being apart of our Rewards Plus program. Information regarding our rewards program can be discussed further during the consultation. Purchases that are over $1,000 can be financed. To receive your personalized quote, contact our office and request a consultation with one of our expert physician injectors today!

  • What does recovery look like for Restylane Refyne?

After your treatment, you will be able to leave our office immediately and return to your daily activities; no downtime is necessary. The results can be seen directly after the injections, but the outcome will be visible once the swelling and redness have subsided. In the first few hours after the treatment, you may experience mild redness, pinpoint bleeding, and swelling; however, these symptoms are very common and will subside on their own. Depending on the area being treated, the swelling can last anywhere from a couple of hours to 48 hours.

To avoid bruising, we use prefer to use Accuvein and cannulas. If you do develop bruising, we offer free laser treatments to correct this concern. You can reduce the risk of potential bruising by avoiding blood elevating activities for the first 12 hours after treatment but this is not required, and there are no health risks if you decide to exercise after the treatment. We do advise patients to not vigorously rub or massage the treated area for at least one day following the injections. Light touching of the treated area, such as washing your face, is acceptable.

  • How many Restylane treatments will I need?

One treatment is usually all it takes to receive the benefits of Restylane Refyne.

After the injections, you will notice the smooth, even surface of your skin. The lines and wrinkles surrounding the mouth and nose will be significantly reduced. You should be aware that the results of this treatment are not permanent, although long-lasting. You will need to return for follow-up treatments to maintain the achieved results.

  • Who is an ideal candidate for Restylane Refyne?

If you are looking to treat moderate-to-severe lines and wrinkles throughout the face, lift the brows, or add volume to the lips, you may be a good candidate to receive this age-defying treatment. It is important that you do not have any underlying skin conditions that can negatively impact the effectiveness of this injectable. When considering this treatment, you should be in good health and have realistic expectations for this treatment, as it does not provide the same results as a surgical procedure. Women who are pregnant or nursing should not receive Restylane Refyne treatments or any other injectable anti-aging treatment.

In the case that you have deep lines and wrinkles on the face, dermal fillers may not provide you with the results you are looking for. The Restylane Refyne injectable can treat mild depressions in the skin. You may be better suited for a more invasive option if your concerns require more in-depth treatment. Reflections Center offers different alternatives to treat severe cases of skin laxity and degeneration. During the consultation with your expert physician injector, they can evaluate your particular case and make the best treatment recommendation to provide you with optimal results.

  • What is the difference between Restylane Refyne and Defyne?

Defyne and Refyne are very similar, but Defyne is firmer and that means if you place it too close to the surface, youll be able to feel it, which is not ideal. So Refyne is softer and what we use closer to the surface of the skin, for that reason. Otherwise, theyre very similar fillers.

  • How long does Restylane Refyne last?

In studies, Refyne lasts about 12 months. Out here in the real world, we counsel patients that the duration of your result really depends upon which filler was used, which injection technique was used, where the filler was placed in your body – and most importantly – your metabolism rate. Because at the end of the day, HA filler lasts as long as it takes your body to break it down and metabolize it.

Each patient metabolizes the Restylane Refyne injectable differently. However, in clinical studies, over 90% of patients were still satisfied with their results at three months, and nearly 80% of patients still saw great results at six months. Results were seen to last up to 12 months for 62.3% of patients1; however, depending on the injection site, the duration of the results will vary. If the Restylane Refyne injections are placed in an area where there is constant facial movement, the gel may break down quicker than normal. During your initial consultation, one of our cosmetic physicians will be able to provide more specific information about your Restylane Refyne treatments and its longevity.

  • Where is Restylane Refyne used?

Refyne can be injected nearly anywhere – but the best use cases are areas where the filler needs to be placed closer to the surface of the skin, and the area is subjected to a lot of movement. For example, around the mouth and to support and smooth out lines and wrinkles. In both of these placements, the filler needs to be able to hold up to the beating it will take from being squished and moved around during normal facial expressions. Older HA filler formulations were bad at that – and so filler wouldn’t last very long. Refyne and Defyne were formulated as gels to allow them to bounce back and last longer in areas with lots of movement. Defyne is the firmer of the two and works best for deeper placements. Refyne is a bit softer, and so it creates a more natural result when placed superficially, as compared to Defyne. Whatever your goals, our office keeps all of the FDA-Approved fillers in stock and our physician injectors will happily direct you towards the optimal filler for your goals (both aesthetically, and budget-wise).

  • How much does Restylane Refyne cost?

Refyne costs $650 per syringe at our New Jersey offices. And we do offer discounts when you purchase more than 1 syringe of filler at the same visit, in addition to savings and loyalty programs that will also save you money on each injectable visit (as well as most other treatments, too).

  • Does Restylane Refyne work immediately?

Yes! All Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers provide immediate results, including Refyne.

  • Can you use Restylane Refyne in the lips?

Yes! Refyne works very well for the lips because it’s made to hold up to the high movement in that area. However, you may also want to consider Kysse, which was developed by the same manufacturer, with the lips specifically in mind.
