Discover your body’s own ability to repair and restore itself with Nanofat + PRP.
Nanofat and PRP harness your body’s own natural growth factors and healing factors, including stem cells, from your fat and blood. Together, these 2 products help to build new tissues to thicken and firm up the skin, increase blood flow, and rebuild fat pads, as well as speed up recovery from procedures, and improve the results of procedures.

What is Nanofat? Why Do We Combine it with PRP?
Nanofat and PRP are two cutting-edge procedures which allow your body access to a hidden wealth of the growth and healing factors within your own fat and blood. The body naturally has the ability to heal itself. Think of how your blood works to seal closed a cut in just a matter of seconds. Platelet-Rich Plasma(PRP) concentrates these healing and growth factors from your blood into a product that can be applied precisely. The fat stores in your body also protect a variety of growth factors and stromal vascular fraction (SVF) cells, including Adipose-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells (ADMSC). By combining and concentrating these two products, we’re able to improve skin tone and texture using your own cells.
What does Nanofat+PRP work well for?
Nanofat + PRP works best for areas of thin or damaged skin, including:
- Crepey skin under the eyes that has many fine lines and wrinkles
- Skin that’s grown too thin over time – usually under the eyes where the skin is so thin that the blue veins below are visible as a purple discoloration
- Scars, whether from surgery, accident, or acne
- Skin that’s had purposeful micro-damage from lasers or other technology can be helped to heal better and faster through topical application of Nanofat+PRP (i.e. If you’re going to have a laser or RF Microneedling treatment, Nanofat+PRP can boost your results and decrease the recovery time, particularly when you’ve had a very aggressive ablative CO2 laser).
Dark Under Eye Circles
Dark circles and bags under the eyes are one of the most common complaints we hear from patients of all ages and demographics. Nanofat+PRP treats dark circles that are caused by skin that’s too thin to camouflage the veins and arteries below, resulting in a dark purple shadow under the eyes. Skin that’s too thin under the eyes also tends to be crepey and has lots of fine wrinkles. The Nanofat+PRP encourages the body to rebuild thicker skin under the eyes and creates a thin layer of fat between these blue veins and the surface of the skin, further reducing the transparency of this skin. This procedure can be combined with dermal fillers or traditional fat transfer to alleviate deep tear troughs or hollowed out circles below the eyes in a single treatment session. Visit our Dark Circles Under the Eyes page to learn more about treatment options and combination therapies.
Vertical Lip Lines/ Somkers’ Lines
Lip lines, also called “smokers lines” occur from repeated motion, such as drinking from water bottles or straws, or smoking, and from natural loss of supportive tissue and volume in the upper and lower lips due to aging. Nanofat+PRP helps the skin to rebuild collagen and elastin, to create plump, elastic skin that is resistant to wrinkles and fine lines.

Nanofat+PRP with Lasers or RF Microneedling
boosts the results for skin rejuvenation and resurfacing, while also reducing the recovery period. Fractional lasers use many tiny collumns of laser light to create microdamage within the skin. They can damage from 15% to 85% of the skin per treatment, depending on the laser and how aggressive the settings are. RF Microneedling and traditional microneedling treatments like dermapen penetrate the skin to create similar microdamage. In the case of RF Microneedling, the tips of the needles also deliver radiofrequency energy to create more damage below the surface of the skin. Your body heals these microdamages over a period of days following the treatment, and then continues to lay down more collagen and elastin over the following months as a way of fortifying your skin against any future damage. When you add the healing and growth factor potential of Nanofat+PRP topically to those columns of microdamage, you deliver the best possible tools for your body to not heal faster but also to create even more collagen and elastin in the area.
This supercharges the results of any laser or microneedling treatment, while simultaneously decreasing the downtime.
Who’s a Good Candidate for Nanofat+PRP?
Almost any patient in good health is a candidate for Nanofat+PRP. Because these products are your own cells, there’s no risk for allergic reaction.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, with similar numbing injections to what a dentist would use to fill a cavity, so there are no general anesthesia risks, either.
The main concerns would be for patients on blood thinners, bruising would be expected. For most patients, we can coordinate with your primary care physician to allow you a few weeks off from those medications, which will greatly reduce this risk.
What Numbing or Anesthesia is Used for Nanofat+PRP?
We perform Nanofat+ PRP under local anesthesia, without sedation. This means you will have a few small injections of a numbing fluid, which will feel very similar to what your dentist injects when filling a cavity. You’ll remain numb in that area for a few hours afterward. On occasion, when patients feel anxious about their procedure, we offer nitrous therapy as a relaxation and anti-anxiety solution, which has proven to be very effective.
What is the Recovery or Downtime Like After Nanofat+PRP?
Nanofat+PRP is performed under local anesthesia without sedation, so you will be able to drive yourself to and from your appointment, without any assistance. You should expect mild to moderate swelling and puffiness for the first 3 days. Bruising is rare unless the patient is on blood-thinner or has taken a blood thinning agent, such as aspirin, alcohol, or fish oil, etc. (you will be given a full list of foods and medications to avoid before and after your procedure). During the first 3 days, you may feel comfortable going out with sunglasses on, if you prefer discretion. You should not expect to feel under the weather or weak during that 3 day period, so if you aren’t concerned with keeping your procedure private, you may go about your normal life. You should avoid strenuous exercise for these 3 days, as raising your blood pressure will increase the risk of long-term swelling and bruising.
After 3 days, most patients feel ready to go back to work and social activities without the fear that others will know they’ve had a procedure. Around this time you can also resume normal workouts, although it’s advisable to put off any high-intensity training for a full week after the procedure, as a precaution against long-term swelling or bruising.
At 7-10 days, you should expect to be photo-ready for big events, such as red carpets and weddings.
