Like so many women who have gone through menopause, hormonal changes led to cellulite on this woman’s thighs and fat accumulation around her knees. The excess fat was weighing down on the skin and if we had not first resolved that issue, any skin tightening procedure would have only had short-lived results, because the fat will continue to weigh on and stretch out skin on the thighs, which will thin during menopause (due to hormonal shifts) and continue to become weaker and thinner with age from this point forward.
So, this patients first had liposuction of the inner knee. In fact, no liposuction was performed above the knee or in the thighs at all. But by first removing that small pocket of fat using laser liposuction performed under local anesthesia, and then treating the skin with Exilis to firm and tighten the skin, she achieved a phenomenal result with minimal cost and downtime.
