GentleMax Pro combines the power of GentleLase (755 nm Alexandrite laser) and GentleYAG (1064 nm Nd: YAG laser) in dual laser technology. GentleLase is currently one of the leading lasers for hair removal and GentleYAG can treat finer hair than other lasers used for hair removal. Although hair removal is perhaps the most popular use for GentleMax Pro, it offers a variety of skin rejuvenation and skin tightening benefits.

Most Common Uses for GentleMax Pro
Laser Hair Removal
The GentleMax Pro laser is an effective laser hair removal treatment that uses dual energy wavelengths to reach the bulb of hair follicles and treat finer hairs than other lasers. Laser hair removal requires 6-9 treatment sessions spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. After your series of treatments with the GentleMax Pro laser, you can permanently reduce unwanted hair and enjoy smooth skin. You’ll want to shave between treatments if you like your skin hair-free, but over time you’ll notice fewer hairs growing back, and immediately after treatment, you will notice hair falling out as you shave.
The GentleMax Pro is a single system that combines 2 lasers into 1 unit: GentleLase and GentleYag. We have had these 2 lasers for a very long time in our practice, and they continue to be workhorses that are favorites of our physicians. In either platform, the important thing to know is that GentleMax Pro is simply the Gentlelase and GentleYag in a single container, as opposed to 2 separate containers.

Removal of Sunspots
GentleMax Pro uses directed laser energy to eliminate brown sunspots and benign keratoses without scarring. The best time to receive this treatment is in the fall or winter since you should avoid sun exposure after treatment. Depending on the severity of your sun-damaged skin, you may need more than one treatment.

Color Corrections from Sun Damage
The GentleMax Pro laser can also treat facial redness (rosacea) and broken blood vessels that cause blotchy red marks on the cheeks, nose, and chin. Since the laser is being used on broken blood vessels, you can expect some redness, swelling, and bruising for a few days after treatment.

Why Choose Reflections for
GentleMax Pro Treatment?
You might notice ours is the only website that talks about GentleMax Pro being the same as the GentleYag and GentleLase, combined in one container. You might also notice we talk about the limitations and best uses of the laser – and the nuances of that. Finally, you might notice this is one of a huge selection of lasers at our office; it’s not even the only laser we use for hair removal. And that’s what makes us difference.
We fully acknowledge that each laser is not best at everything it can do
That’s a really frustrating truth that cosmetic providers will only come to understand after purchasing and using several lasers, well into their career. Lasers are sold as amazing tools that can do many, many things – and they’re expensive (hundreds of thousands of dollars each, plus maintenance and repairs). You wouldn’t spend millions of dollars buying the equipment we have unless you understood how to really make the most of it, and you really cared about the results your patients get.
You can see this in everything we do:
- we say no to patients who want treatments we know aren’t going to work for them.
- our website outlines treatments we don’t believe in, including instances where we own the technology we say we don’t believe in
- our doctors each specialize in specific areas of cosmetic medicine – and together, we provide it all – but we value the expertise and experience of specialization

Yes! GentleMax works for a variety of skin conditions and skin types. It offers long-lasting results to treat unwanted hair, facial redness, and other signs of sun damage.

GentleMax Pro is a safe treatment for almost all skin types. The most common side effects are redness and swelling after treatment for rosacea or cherry angiomas.

- Which laser is better, Diode or Alexandrite?

Planning for Your GentleMax Pro Treatment
Avoid Sun Exposure
Before your laser treatment, you should avoid sun exposure and artificial tanning for two weeks prior.
Keep An Eye on Facial or Skin Routine
Retinol should not be used within the five days leading up to treatment and you should not wax, pluck, or bleach the hair being treated for 2-4 weeks before treatment.
Shaving Before Treatment
You should shave the treatment area two days before treatment but leave a small unshaven patch so that your clinician can assess your hair growth.
Treatment Requirements
GentleMax Pro laser treatment usually requires 6-9 sessions depending on the color and type of your hair.
Some Patients May Require Additional Treatments
Darker skin and/or a large amount of unwanted hair may require more treatments.
Sessions Spaced Out
Sessions should be scheduled about 4-6 weeks apart.
Continue Sun Exposure Avoidance
You should continue to avoid sun exposure after your treatment since laser exposure increases your skin’s sensitivity to the sun. If your skin is already tanned, this can increase your risk of burning during treatment.
Use SPF & Reapply Regularly
If you do go out in the sun, wear a minimum of SPF 30 and reapply regularly.
Be Mindful of Skincare Products, Makeups, & Perfumes
You should avoid perfumed skincare, exfoliating products, and makeup for 48 hours after GentleMax treatment.
