Tribal Tattoo Removal at Reflections Center: Illicia’s Story

Back to All Stories
It was just something I didn't want to have any longer. When I put on a bathing suit it was kind of an eyesore.”

Illicia came to Reflections Center and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Chasin to have her tattoos removed. She says “I have a few tattoos that I got when I was at the age of twenty that I wanted to remove. One on my finger, one on my thigh. The one on my finger was all black ink and it was of a name that I wanted to get rid of. The one on my thigh was fairly large and very concentrated with a lot of black ink. It was just something I didn’t want to have any longer. When I put on a bathing suit it was kind of an eyesore as a tribal.” Illicia’s experience is relatively common; many people choose to have tattoos removed that are no longer in-trend or relevant to them personally. Thankfully, Dr. Chasin offers the latest and most advanced tattoo removal options, so patients can effectively remove their tattoos. “Almost immediately, I saw these amazing results with Dr. Chasin,” Illicia says.

I was extremely concerned with tattoo removal and how it was gonna look during the process and kind of what my final result would look like.”

Illicia had some reservations about tattoo removal. She explains that she was “extremely concerned” with “how it was gonna look during the process and kind of what my final result would look like.” Tattoo removal is completed over a series of sessions, with the tattoo gradually fading over the course of each session. In some cases, tattoos can be completely removed; in others, patients choose to have treatment sessions until the tattoo is sufficiently faded to be easily covered with a new tattoo.

For Illicia’s tattoo removal, Dr. Chasin was “extremely confident, and he did have me come to the Martinsville location as opposed to the Livingston location to use a different machine because he felt it was a better fit.” After her initial consultation, Dr. Chasin suggested that the PiQo4 laser was the best option for Illicia’s tattoo and skin tone. “He was honest and straight up about what it was gonna feel like and how long it could take. With all of it, he was very clear about the process.”

After today’s procedure, probably 80% of the tattoo is gone.”

PiQo4 is one of the most advanced tattoo removal systems available, as it is uniquely capable of treating patients who have tan or dark skin tones and can remove tattoos of all colors. PiQo4 allows physicians like Dr. Chasin to utilize aggressive energy settings without damaging the patients’ skin regardless of their skin type, so patients can more completely remove tattoos in fewer sessions. After only a few short sessions, Illicia’s tattoos were nearly completely removed. “After today’s procedure, probably 80% of the tattoo is gone.” Further PiQo4 sessions could completely remove all of the remaining pigment.

Illicia was pleased with both her results and experience at Reflections Center. “To compare Reflections to other doctor’s offices would be challenging because really there’s no way to compare it,” she explains. “The experience and staff and the environment, it’s definitely something that all offices should be aiming for.”
